What is the focus of your blog?
Building an authoritative, income-generating presence online.
How did you get into blogging? What made you choose this path?
I got into blogging because it just made sense. Whenever I search for solutions to my problems in the search engines, an overwhelming majority of the time it’s blogs that dominate the first page. So it made sense for me to establish my authoritative presence online by cataloging my expertise on my own blog. Although blogging is a long-term strategy, the people that I’ve worked with really appreciate the helpful content. For many of them it was the determining factor between working with me or someone else. It signifies that I’m in it for the long-haul.
What do you know now that you wish you knew when you first started your business?
I wish I truly understood that you really should be passionate about the business you start, meaning just don’t start a business that you think will be easy and just make you a lot of money because it’s likely that it won’t be as easy as it seems and you’ll just end up quitting. If you start out with an interest that you are passionate about then it won’t feel like work or a burden while you build momentum for exponential growth.
What is your most proud blog related achievement? How did it affect you and/or your business?
One of my most proud blog related achievements was being recognized by curious.com, an innovative and engaging marketplace that connects lifelong learners with exceptional teachers from around the world, as one of the best online teachers for digital marketing. I currently work with them and get paid to create digital marketing courses for their highly engaged community. This was a huge turning point for my business. It gave me a huge boost of confidence to be recognized as an expert. Furthermore, it reinforced that my content creation efforts were paying off.
Please share a blog post that you want to highlight? Why did you choose this one?
This blog post is for folks looking to leverage the internet to grow their brand or business. It covers 3 realities that they must quickly understand in order to succeed. Its focus is really on setting realistic expectations of hard work so they aren’t blinded-sided by some video sales letter promising them the world by next week.
How do you manage time to run your business efficiently?
Simple. I use tools and a dead set schedule that I’ve committed to. In conjunction with that I have quarterly goals that are clearly defined. As well, I’ve identified the activities that support those goals. All too often people feel that they need to have a bunch of tasks going in order to feel productive. This not only goes for running a business, but also having a job – it’s almost second nature. I’ve managed to make my tasks and schedule as lean as possible while having maximum impact.
What aspects of your business do you want to learn more about?
At the moment I’m really diving much deeper into paid advertising. I believe this is the difference maker and jumping into the six or seven figure earnings call him. Content creation like blogging or shooting videos is important, but it makes no difference if you can’t get that content in front of the masses.
When you aren’t working, what do you like to do for fun?
Traveling has always been a passion of mine. I believe strongly that traveling cures ignorance and makes me humble. It allows me to unplug for a while and come back rejuvenated and ready to work. I’ve also been told that the photos that I share of my travels inspire people to fully commit to their business so that they can do more of the things that they enjoy life.
What else do you want us to know about you?
I really love animals, dogs in particular. Every time I see one of those Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals commercials I melt like a candlestick. I believe every domesticated animal should have a happy home just like human beings.
