There’s a blogging frenzy going on as marketers try to carve their own space within their niche.
Although blogging is a great way to establish your authority, it’s also an easy way to waste time if your focus isn’t in the right place.
A big reason why most bloggers don’t see results or end up quitting is because most of their activities are time wasters when it comes to blogging. The truth is it’s not their fault, and it’s very well possible they weren’t taught correctly
Yes, you should be focusing on consistently creating and distributing your content to as many outlets as possible, but those same blogging tips are just as important as the common blogging mistakes that you will learn below.
1. On-Page SEO Fixation
One of the biggest blogging mistakes to avoid is being fixated on on-page SEO. Believe it or not, SEO has changed drastically over the years. Search engines like Google are more sophisticated and don’t have to heavily rely on just keywords.
If you know your subject matter, then you will naturally be able to include the relevant terms that signal the search engines when you are providing a specific answer. Of course, continue to do keyword research, but focus more on quality.
2. Blast of Blog Content
After marketers figure out their topics to blog about, many will go on a blogging binge and pump blog post on a daily basis and forget to focus on solving problems. “How to get my blog noticed” is question that most will ask, but honestly that’s the easy part.
My suggestion is to slow down and focus on giving each post the proper promotion – even if you have to wait to a few days to promote following posts.
3. No Marketing Offer
Like most things in life it’s not about what you are doing, but how you are doing it. Having no marketing offer to send your visitors to is another one of the blogging mistakes business bloggers make.
Creating and sharing your blog is the heavy lifting, but the heavy lifting isn’t always what produces you the most results. So one of the last successful blogging tips I will leave with you is to have a relevant offer to your blog content to generate leads. It’s arguably the most important part of your blog
Are you committing these blogging mistakes?
If you are then you now have some guidance on fixing them. As I mentioned in this post, it’s not what you do, but how you do it that counts. You have to blog smart in order to avoid burn out.
Don’t get hung up on on-page SEO, because there’s no telling if you will actually get ranked. Don’t burn yourself out with rapid blogging, especially if it isn’t value based. And make sure you create a “must have” marketing offer to generate leads which is the intention of you blogging.
To your success,
