What does “Integrity and Ethics mean? Well according to Dictionary.com, it means…
I often think about this during the day as I work online and come across situations where I have to make a decision about whether what I am asked to do is honest or does it go against my values.
There are so many different cultures and perceptions of right and wrong in real life and working online. It comes down to doing what you believe to be right and what will allow you to sleep at night once you have made that decision “to do or not to do.”
We are told everyday online that we need to build relationships and earn the KLT (Know, Like and Trust) factor in order to succeed. But we have also been told, “The Nice Guy Finishes Last.”
KLT is very important and you have to earn it.
The nice guy/girl might finish last but it takes only a little longer to achieve the goals set for himself or herself versus someone else who thinks nothing about deceiving people, stretching the truth and outright lying to get what he or she wants in a hurry to build wealth and make a name for themselves.
What about you? Do you “Really” think about whether you are doing right or wrong in making a decision? Do you feel confident after you have made your decision that you will be able to hold your head as high as you used to and be able to sleep at night with a free and clear conscious?
“There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right.” ― Martin Luther King Jr.
Do you have a limit that you will go beyond to succeed?
This post is just something I’ve been thinking about for a while since I’ve been in this industry of writing and marketing online.
I would love to hear your thoughts on “Integrity and Ethics.”

THANK YOU FOR SHOPPING PAC!
Hi Miriam. You are welcome. I also believe in karma but sure seems like a long time getting where it needs to be sometimes. I couldn’t sleep at night if I have not been completely honest with people. Thanks for visiting and commenting.

Thanks for sharing this. Being honest and fair is the only way to go in life otherwise your reputation will be tarnished quite fast, and there is that karma thing I believe in! And besides, being scammed is not a nice feeling, I could not do that to someone else and sleep at night.
If only everyone would operate on those principles, how much better this world would be! Great post, Monna. Thanks for sharing.
I agree Willena. I think it’s another one of those simple things that is so easy to do but some just don’t or won’t do the right things.
Yes, honesty is always the best policy. people are quick to see through lies and deceipt. Being open and honest is appreciated by everyone.

Hi Liz, I agree. I think the majority of people are learning to see through lies and deceit online. Thank so much for your visit and commenting.
Hi Monna,
I love this post, I appreciate honest people with integrity.
And is really sad that some marketers are still teaching to ‘fake it till you make it’,
because you never feel free till you are who you are.
Thank you for great post,
Have a fantastic day!
Emi
Hi Emi, Just wanted to say that we missed you and sorry you kept getting booted out of the hangout the other afternoon. Thank you. I just think it’s so much easier to be honest. Sort of like if you tell no lies, you don’t have to remember what you told and to whom or who. LOL

Yes I am a big believer in integrity and ethics. It actually makes me really mad to see people who do not follow those codes of honour.

Hi Jenni, Oh, it does me too (anger me). I just cannot understand how people can sleep at night. But then I realize I am not the one who has to pay the price.

Hi there Monna,
I do think about this always and to me my faith brings ethics and integrity to the forefront with what I do. I think about God when I’m facing a tough decision and I pray. If it’s clearly something unethical then I know what to do because I want to do what’s right before God.

Hi Lillian, Faith can always have a big impact on any decision we need to make. I try to do the same thing.

Hi Monna, I can still hear my mother’s voice in my head with these two quotes, “The truth always comes out,” and “What goes around comes around.” These were re-enforced constantly. We have to play this game of life correctly and honestly, because in the end when you cheat, or are not true, it will come back to you. Great post, Monna.
Hi Brenda, I think Ohio mothers were programmed to use those exact words. LOL. All kidding aside, I agree. It sometimes seems like the ones who are faking it are getting ahead but as you said, it will catch up with them.

Hey Monna, Awesome Post My Friend! When I first got started online, my mentor told me fake it until you make it! Wow HUH? Like this was the worst advice anyone ever told me. YOU Can’t be yourself when you are trying to be someone else REALLY?
I was so unhappy pretending to be someone else to, this was NOT working for me, so this is when i decided to start working on me! Oh yeh much better way to be.
Thanks for sharing.. Chery :))

Hi Chery, I was told that many times over too; “Fake it until you make it.” At the time I didn’t have a clue to what I was getting into but I knew I didn’t like the sound of that advice. You are right, it’s so much easier being yourself.

I pride myself on being honest and fair. Nice to know others care about it like I do.
Hi Lolette, Same here. Sometimes I feel like there are very few of us out there but then I think back on the friendships I have made online and I know who I can trust and who I can’t.
